Welcome to SRD R370 Status Check (“the App”), developed and maintained by Grantech (“we”, “us”, “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application available on Google Play Store.

ABOUT THIS APP
SRD R370 Status Check is a third-party mobile application that provides convenient access to the official South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) SRD R370 grant portal through an Android WebView. The App is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to SASSA or any South African government department.
INFORMATION WE DO NOT COLLECT
We want to be completely transparent. Grantech does NOT collect, store, process, or share any of the following:
- Your South African ID number
- Your full name or personal identity information
- Your physical address or location data
- Your phone number or email address
- Your banking details or financial information
- Your grant application data or status information
- Your device’s precise GPS location
- Your photos, camera, or microphone data
- Any biometric data
We have no database, no backend server, and no mechanism to store any personal information from our users.
WEBVIEW CONTENT AND THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES
The App displays content from the official SASSA website (srd.sassa.gov.za) using Android’s built-in WebView technology. This means:
- All pages you interact with inside the App are loaded directly from the official SASSA government website
- Any information you enter on those pages (such as your ID number or phone number for status checks) is submitted directly to SASSA’s own servers
- We have absolutely no access to, visibility of, or control over any information you submit on the SASSA website
- All such interactions are governed exclusively by SASSA’s own privacy policy and terms of use, available at srd.sassa.gov.za
- We strongly recommend you review SASSA’s privacy policy for information about how they handle your data
COOKIES AND LOCAL STORAGE
The WebView component in the App uses cookies and local storage as enabled by Android’s standard WebView settings. These are used by the SASSA website itself for session management and functionality. We do not create, read, or control any cookies independently. All cookie data is managed by SASSA’s website and Android’s WebView engine.
ADVERTISING — GOOGLE ADMOB
The App uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob is a mobile advertising service provided by Google LLC. Through AdMob, Google may:
- Use cookies, device identifiers, and advertising IDs to serve relevant advertisements
- Collect non-personal technical information such as device type, operating system version, and app usage patterns
- Use your Google Advertising ID (GAID) to show personalised ads based on your interests

The App may send push notifications to your device for the following purposes:
- Grant payment date reminders
- Important updates about the SRD R370 grant
- App update announcements
Notifications are sent only through Android’s standard notification system. We do not collect any data through notifications.
How to disable notifications:
- Open your device Settings
- Go to Apps → SRD R370 Status Check → Notifications
- Toggle notifications off
APP PERMISSIONS
The App requests the following Android permissions:

CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
The App is intended for use by adults and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through this App, please contact us immediately at [email protected] and we will take appropriate action.
DATA SECURITY
Since we do not collect, store, or process any personal data, there is no personal data at risk from our end. However, we recommend that you:
- Always use the App on a secure and trusted network
- Keep your Android device updated with the latest security patches
- Never share your SASSA ID number or personal details with anyone
- Only enter your personal details on the official SASSA pages loaded within the App
DATA RETENTION
We do not retain any personal data because we do not collect any. The only data stored locally on your device is:
- App preferences (such as whether the welcome notification has been shown) stored in Android SharedPreferences on your device only
- WebView cache and cookies managed by Android’s WebView engine
All of this data remains entirely on your device and is deleted when you uninstall the App.
